Water butt tap kit, 1/2in BSP: a plastic water butt connector (1/2in BSP male thread through the wall, female outlet) with back nut and 2 washers, and a nickel plated brass bib tap with a hose barb outlet.
Fitting: drill a 21mm hole low down on the water butt so most of the water can drain. Remove the back nut and one washer, push the connector through from the outside, then fit the washer and back nut on the inside and tighten, so there is a washer each side of the wall. If the water butt already has a 1/2in BSP female thread, screw the connector straight in. Wrap PTFE tape on the tap thread and screw the tap into the connector outlet.
Brass bib tap with nickel plating against corrosion and a turn handle for on and off. Push a garden hose firmly over the hose barb so it grips inside the hose. Check the barb against your hose bore in the size picture.
Use it to water plants, borders and lawns, or to wash cars and patios, with rainwater from your water butt.
