Water butt tap kit, 1/2in BSP: a plastic water butt connector (1/2in BSP male thread through the wall, female outlet) with back nut and 2 washers, and a polished brass tap with a 13mm hose barb outlet.
Fitting: drill a 21mm hole low down on the water butt so most of the water can drain. Remove the back nut and one washer, push the connector through from the outside, then fit the washer and back nut on the inside and tighten, so there is a washer each side of the wall. If the water butt already has a 1/2in BSP female thread, screw the connector straight in. Wrap PTFE tape on the tap thread and screw the tap into the connector outlet.
Polished brass body with a turn handle for easy on and off and fine control of the flow. The 13mm hose barb fits a hose with a 13mm bore. Push the hose firmly over the barb so it grips inside the hose.
Use it to water plants, borders and lawns, or to wash cars and patios, with rainwater from your water butt.
